Welcome from the Headteacher
Welcome to Lee Mount Academy. I am delighted to be able to take up the role of interim executive Headteacher until a permanent appointment can be made.
As the newest member of Impact Education Multi Academy Trust, Lee Mount is already benefitting from the added value being part of a Trust brings. Improvements in provision for all key stages has been a priority and an extensive programme of changes have already been made.
As the term and year progresses, I hope that all parents and stakeholders will be able to see and hear about the changes that have been made. Please make sure to read the regular newsletters, which will include all the most important information.
Lee Mount Academy is a ‘Can do School’ and we work hard to provide a happy, stimulating, and caring environment, where all children are valued. Our child-centred approach builds relationships, confidence, and teamwork alongside an aspiration that all children should reach their full academic potential.
We are keen to encourage children to have a ‘can do’ approach to their own learning and we actively teach children to be respectful, to develop resilience, to take responsibility and to reflect on their learning.
Our team of dedicated staff have high aspirations and want the best for every child in their care. We will always have time to talk about your child’s education and look forward to working with our families and the wider community to nurture readers, writers, and problem solvers for the future.
Best wishes,
Mrs Heathcote
Our Vision
Our vision is to ensure that learning is engaging, active and fun. We want children to love school, be happy and healthy. Central to the vision are the Impact values and we teach children to understand why having high aspirations are important. We are a ‘Can do school’ where hearts and minds connect.
Our Aims
To ensure that the achievement, personal development, and well-being of children is the primary concern of all.
- To create outstanding learning and teaching which engages pupils, is active, collaborative and encourages independence.
- To foster pupil voice which involves children in the development and delivery of their own education and the life of their academy.
- To construct a curriculum which meets the needs of all learners is engaging and fun.
- To develop professional networks which provide opportunities for pupils.
- To understand and promote community cohesion within the curriculum and wider opportunities available to children and families.
Our Values
To achieve the highest possible educational outcomes and to ensure that all children develop a love of reading which carries them into adulthood.
To develop the power of language, we want confident, articulate young people who can express themselves with ease.
To instil a simple behaviour strategy which creates visible consistencies and underpins daily life at Lee Mount Academy. A behaviour system built around the following ‘Can do’ approach:
- I can show RESPECT
- I can build RESILIENCE
- I can develop RESPONSIBILITY
- I can REFLECT
To aim high by raising aspirations to be the very best that we can be. Challenging ourselves to believe and achieve across a wide range of activities.
To place wider personal development at the heart of the curriculum to ensure that all Lee Mount children develop into mentally, physically and academically resilient learners.
